The babies and
toddlers need lots of early interaction, we talk, sing
and play with them in groups or individually. We give
them plenty of love and cuddles, helping them to feel
secure, happy and confident.
We provide activities that enable the toddlers to learn
through their senses, explaining and making sense of
their environment. We encourage social interaction with
each other to enable them to become skilful
communicators. This area has been designed to be
welcoming and stimulating.
During this
period, children are absorbed in discovery and
exploration. We encourage messy play, singing and
stories and arrange activities to encourage them to
develop into confident learners. During this time,
children are eager to develop independence; our
environment enables them to explore this. Our
environment is safe and interesting with age-appropriate
resources that help children develop curiosity,
co-ordination and physical ability. Communication is
encouraged and children begin to develop a sense of self
and are supported in expressing their needs and
feelings.
